Why Donate?
Gloucestershire Badger Group is a small not-for-profit organisation run entirely on its small membership fees, fundraising, and generous donations from our members and supporters. Out of our low membership fee, we pay about £2 per member to the Badger Trust to whom we are affiliated.
We actively monitor setts and badger activity and investigate reports of wildlife crime and traffic accidents involving badgers. We rescue injured badgers and take them for veterinary treatment and rehabilitation before release back into the wild. We monitor and comment on planning applications that may affect badgers and carry out surveys. We provide the public with advice and information about badger-related problems and are involved in education and advocacy to promote the welfare of badgers in our area of Gloucestershire. All members give their time freely and we rely on generous donations to continue and expand the important work we do. We welcome any offers of financial or practical help from businesses and members of the public in order to further our objectives. We are always happy to hear from anyone who would like to get involved with our work in any way.
Some of our costs relate to kit required to enable us to help badgers in need, such as trail cams and rescue equipment. Other funds are necessary for items such as campaigns, postage, insurance, hall hire, printing etc.
