State of the Badger Study

Volunteers are invited to get involved in our ambitious new badger survey looking at badger population health in England and Wales.

The State of the Badger project is a landmark piece of work for Badger Trust as we look to assess the true impact of the badger cull, crime, and increasing development on badger populations.

How does it work?

Using the resources of Citizen Science, eg. currently used for studying river pollution where citizens take samples and record them as data.

Which groups are next up?

Gloucestershire and Oxfordshire

Funding?

From the National Lottery Heritage Fund in the new year. Depending on funding, it will start either Spring or Autumn of 2025.
